The ABAC AS-10S253TM is the quiet, higher output 10 HP machine in the AS-B range, delivered on a 131 gallon air receiver as one assembled package. It gives 39.8 CFM at a 125 PSI maximum and runs at just 65 dBA, about 4 dBA below the standard AS-10 and quiet enough to stand on the shop floor near the point of use instead of being walled into a compressor room. Because the air end and the tank ship together, installation comes down to setting it in place, landing power and tying into the header. Power is 208-230-460V three-phase.

Why a screw instead of another piston
A piston compressor builds air in bursts and needs time to cool between them. A rotary screw is rated for continuous duty, so it holds a flat line pressure through a full shift instead of sagging and recovering between jobs. That is the reason shops running air most of the day move off a reciprocating machine that is cycling hard, running hot and filling the room with noise. The AS-B air end is a fully integrated aluminum block with vertical oil separation, which keeps oil carryover and condensation low, and ABAC pairs it with an energy efficient motor and a digital controller so the service schedule lives on the panel rather than on a clipboard. The trade is that a screw dislikes short cycling, which is exactly what the 131 gallon receiver underneath it is there to prevent.
How it compares
Across the AS-B range pressure, airflow and mounting move independently. The AS-10S503TM is the identical package set for 150 PSI at 35.6 CFM, and the AS-10S753TM reaches 175 PSI at 29.9 CFM, so every step up in pressure costs airflow. Against the standard AS-10253TM on the same 131 gallon tank at the same 125 PSI, this unit gives 3.4 CFM more air and runs 4 dBA quieter. If you already own a receiver, the AS-10S253BM is the bare 454 lb base mount at the same pressure and airflow. The AS-10S253TMD is this same tank mount build with a refrigerated dryer already integrated, which saves plumbing a separate dryer in. Stepping down, the AS-7.5251TM gives 30.5 CFM at 67 dBA on the same receiver; stepping up, the AS-15253TM carries 52.1 CFM at 69 dBA.
Typical applications
Production and fabrication floors, automotive and fleet service bays, tire and truck shops, cabinet and woodworking shops, plasma tables, packaging lines, and any operation where a piston compressor is cycling too hard to hold line pressure. At 39.8 CFM it will carry several air ratchets, an orbital sander and a plasma cutter on the same line, or keep a two to three bay shop fed through a full shift. The 131 gallon receiver gives the compressor room to ride out short bursts of heavy demand, so it runs longer and rests longer rather than loading and unloading all day. The 65 dBA rating is the reason to choose this one over the standard AS-10 when the compressor has to share space with the people using it.
What to pair it with
Give the cabinet about 3 feet of clear air on the cooling side, keep it out of a hot corner, and run it on its own circuit sized to the motor nameplate. Oil, oil filter and separator element are the service items, and the digital controller tracks the intervals. Air leaving any screw carries moisture, so if it goes to paint, tires, pneumatic controls or anything that hates water, put a refrigerated dryer behind it. At 39.8 CFM the ABAC COOL 50 is the matching 50 CFM size and runs on 115V, so it plugs in beside the compressor without new wiring; the COOL 65 is the next size up if you want more headroom.
