CPF Professional Gear Driven Rotary Screw Air Compressor By Chicago Pneumatic
The Chicago Pneumatic CPF Professional is the large frame of the CP gear driven rotary screw range: CPF 200 at 200 HP and 931 CFM, CPF 270 at 270 HP and 1197 CFM, and CPF 340 at 340 HP and 1490 CFM. The CPF 200 is rated 130 PSI and the two larger frames 125 PSI. These are plant air compressors, built for continuous duty around the clock with a gear driven air end, a heavy duty cooling package and a controller that can run as part of a multi compressor system.
Who it is for. Foundries, automotive and tier one plants, large wood and metal fabrication, food and beverage lines, textile mills and any site where total demand is above 900 CFM and a single machine is preferred over two or three mid size units. A CPF usually replaces an aging centrifugal or a bank of 100 to 150 HP screws, or it becomes the base load machine with a smaller variable speed unit trimming the peaks.
Install and power notes. Each unit ships by flatbed truck freight and needs rigging. The compressor room needs a level pad, large volume cooling air with ducted exhaust (an air cooled 340 HP machine rejects a great deal of heat), a 460 V three phase feed with a starter or drive sized to the nameplate, and a condensate drain path to an oil water separator. Allow full clearance on every side for cooler cleaning and air end service. Budget for a start up visit; at this size the first hours set the tone for the next 40,000.
What to pair it with. A dryer and filter train rated for the full flow (cycling refrigerated or heated desiccant depending on dew point needs), a wet receiver ahead of the dryer and a dry receiver after, a flow controller if pressure stability matters, and main header piping sized for 1500 CFM.
