A drain valve is a necessary component of your compressor setup to ensure condensation does not cause corrosion or impede the quality of the final product. These drains are the perfect fit for operations that cannot lose any compressed air.

Condensation is present in every compressed air system and must be removed. While every system has condensation that needs to be removed, the degree of removal is operation-dependent. A pneumatic drain valve is the best solution for operations requiring as much moisture removed without losing any compressed air.
By capitalizing on gravity, the condensate is fed into the valves of the condensation reservoir. Over time, this reservoir fills up, raising the float with it. The float is the internal sensor mechanism, and once it reaches a specific level, control air is sent to the piston.
As the piston lifts, the typically sealed port is opened. When it lifts, the liquid is ejected, and the float falls back down. Once it reaches the seat, the air that was holding the valve open is cut off, and it closes. This process repeats every time condensate needs to be expelled.
This method ensures that the most liquid is being dispelled without losing any compressed air. By using condensate content as a baseline, these drains never get overwhelmed. Peak periods result in more dumps from these drains, where timer drains hold all this extra moisture till it is time to dump.
By avoiding this build-up, you can significantly reduce the likelihood of your condensate drain failing and, in the worst case scenario, prevent the drain from exploding. If the condensate and pressure reach a critical level, it can be fatal for the drain and your system.
